Covid vaccinations available in stock at Revel Pharmacy

Some people have been struggling to obtain Covid vaccination. We have both COVID AND FLU vaccinations available.

We will then reserve your vaccine and call you as soon as we have slots. The appointments for week beginning 6^th October are already full.

We will be arranging vaccinations for week beginning 13^th October soon.

We are happy to do flu and covid at the same time or with separate appointments.

We are arranging covid jabs (with flu if you want it at the same time) in blocks of 6. Flu jabs come in single dose syringes. However, Covid comes in 6 dose vials. As soon as you open a vial we must use all 6 in that morning or afternoon. Each vaccine is extremely expensive, and we feel that we have a duty to ensure we do not waste any.

We are proud that so far our team has managed to fill cancellations and when someone does not turn up so far and equally grateful for the support of the patients who have come in at short notice.

The government have moved to a system “living with covid”.

Part of this is a reduction in eligibility for the covid vaccine. This is because the main circulating variant strains of covid are causing less serious illnesses. The majority of serious covid illness is in the three eligible groups. This is the logic.

Many people have expressed frustration and discontent that they are no longer eligible for a free NHS covid vaccination.

Please do not take it out on our staff. The government only supplies us with vaccines for the people who are eligible.

Who does qualify

• adults aged 75 years and over

• residents in care homes for older adults

• individuals who are immunosuppressed aged 6 months and over

There are the only groups we can vaccinate free as an NHS service.

NHS FLU vaccinations

 The eligibility for NHS flu vaccination has not changed and you can ring 01788 834848 for an appointment. We have times across the day to try and make sure we can offer as much convenience as possible.

If you just need flu please call for an appointment, we can usually arrange a time without needing to call you back.

Private Covid Vaccination

These are expensive. We have found the service available at £90-100. We are still searching suppliers to see if we can make jabs available for £80. It is unlikely we will be able to achieve a price lower than that.

Private FLU vaccinations

People who do not qualify for free NHS vaccines but who work in potentially vulnerable environments, teachers, receptionists shop workers as an examples may feel they benefit from flu vaccinations. We are pleased to offer a private flu vaccination service if you feel that you would benefit. The cost is £22.50
