Following the unprecedented MenB outbreak, primarily among University of Kent students in March 2026, and clusters in Weymouth and Reading more recently, the government has instituted a new one-off and time-limited offer of MenB vaccination to those considered at highest risk.

The aim is to vaccinate individuals before the start of the 2026/2027 academic year and the peak season for MenB in autumn 2026.

ALL year 13, anyone with date of birth between 1 September 2007 and 31 August 2008.

AND

Anyone who is under 25 at 31/12/2026 ( born on or after 21/07/2001) who start undergraduate higher education in autumn 2026 or anyone in the same age group who will be living in the same age group who will be living in further education accommodation or halls of residence for the first time in autumn 2026.

You need 2 vaccinations at least 28 days apart. Ideally start early and complete the vaccination course before you start university for maximum benefit. So best to start early.

Pharmacies will provide this vaccination service, and it has literally only just been organised. Revel Pharmacy registered immediately.

There is a catch up if you cannot make it early or if you change your mind. The service will run until March 27. But the first jab must be complete by December 2026

We start 20 July 2026. (not allowed to start before). We have been accepted for a contract and are waiting to be processed so we can put available appointments on the National booking service. Because we have booked early we have been promised we will have vaccines in time to start on 20 July.
