The government have moved to a system “living with covid”.

Part of this is a reduction in eligibility for the covid vaccine. This is because the main circulating variant strains of covid are causing less serious illnesses. The majority of serious covid illness is in the three eligible groups. This is the logic.

Many people have expressed frustration and discontent that they are no longer eligible for a free NHS covid vaccination.

Please do not take it out on our staff. We are only supplied with vaccines for the people who are eligible.

Who does qualify

• adults aged 75 years and over

• residents in care homes for older adults

• individuals who are immunosuppressed aged 6 months and over

Private Covid Vaccination

These are expensive. We have found the service available at £90-100. We are still searching suppliers to see if we can make jabs available for £80. It is unlikely we will be able to achieve a price lower than that.

NHS FLU vaccinations

The eligibility for NHS flu vaccination has not changed and you can ring 01788 834848 for an appointment. We have times across the day to try and make sure we can offer as much convenience as possible.
