Covid Vaccination Appointments are now available at Revel Pharmacy, Rugby UK
We are pleased to announce that we have successfully completed all the training and assessments to provide covid jabs on the NHS to provide. This means that from April, anyone who needs a Covid jab can attend the Pharmacy.
Please call 01788834848 to make an appointments. We are not using our normal online appointment system because the vaccines come in vials of five and obviously to avoid wasted vaccines we need to book people in groups of five. If it suits you please feel free to pop into the pharmacy and book your appointment in person.
The same criteria for eligibility for the COVID vaccine applies nationally and it doesn't matter where you have your vaccination. All vaccination centres are applying the same eligibility criteria.
Advice to have a COVID vaccine is based on guidance from the NHS. The guidance comes from an expert group who review all the available research and data. The guidance is gold standard care based on everything we know at present as well as the experience of the vaccines so far.. There is no doubt that the vaccine has prevented many deaths and reduced the severity of the illness for many individuals.
People eligible for a second COVID vaccine are in a vulnerable group. There are people who have concerns about the vaccines and our understanding is that these are all considered by the expert advisers to the NHS. The guidance at the moment is that the vaccines are substantially beneficial.
We will continue to provide the service based on national guidelines.
If you're unsure whether you qualify for a vaccine at any particular time you are welcome to ring the pharmacy or pop in. Our staff will guide you.
Remember that people in the vulnerable group are entitled to free COVID test kits. Even if you're not having the vaccine you're still entitled to these test kits and if you come into the pharmacy we are able to give them out for free on behalf of the NHS.
This is because early diagnosis of COVID in vulnerable people is very important because of the availability of antiviral drugs and the need to start this treatment early to obtain maximum benefit.
